All cases get a case label and in order to keep the traceability to the highest level, these case labels contain a unique Id for each case.\n<\/p><p>\nThe case label is generated manually with Ovotrack End-of-lane labelling and Ovotrack button boxes for all cases that are packed manually. For the automatic case packing robots Vital Farms challenged Ovotrack for an automated case labelling solution that would still offer the same level of traceability as for the manual cases.\n<\/p><p>\n\u00a0\n<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><!--.panel-grid-cell-container--><\/div><!--.panel-row-style--><\/div><!--.panel-grid--><div class=\"panel-grid ppb-row\" id=\"pg-5873-2\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0;\" ><div class=\"ppb-row panel-row-style panel-row-style- \" style=\"\" ><style>#pg-5873-2 .panel-grid-cell { padding: 0 0.5% 0; }<\/style><div class='panel-grid-cell-container'><div class=\"ppb-col panel-grid-cell \" id=\"pgc-5873-2-0\" ><div id=\"panel-5873-2-0-0\" class=\"ppb-block ppb-no-mobile-spacing\" style=\"\" ><p>\nIn cooperation with Carl Kicklighter and Brian Keener from Vital Farms, a case tracking solution was developed with the following elements:\n<\/p><ul><li>label applicators (4) to apply small unique 2D codes on the empty cases in between each case erector and case packer;<\/li><li>scanners (8) inside the case packers, one for each side of the case packer, to read the 2D code on the moment of packing the case and connect it to the traceability information and prepare the case label but not yet print it;<\/li><li>scanners (2) further down the case conveyor, in front of the print&amp;apply systems to read the 2D codes and instruct the print&amp;apply systems;<\/li><li>automatic <a href=\"https:\/\/ovotrack.com\/egg-grading-modules\/print-apply\/print-apply\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">print &amp; apply systems<\/a> (2) to print and apply the correct label on each case;<\/li><li>Ovotrack software to connect it all together.<\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ppb-col panel-grid-cell \" id=\"pgc-5873-2-1\" ><div id=\"panel-5873-2-1-0\" class=\"ppb-block ppb-no-mobile-spacing\" style=\"\" >\n<div class=\"su-youtube su-u-responsive-media-yes\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IhiTKzm0GNA?\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen allow=\"autoplay; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture\" title=\"Ovotrack Case Tracking Project at Vital Farms, USA\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><!--.panel-grid-cell-container--><\/div><!--.panel-row-style--><\/div><!--.panel-grid--><div class=\"panel-grid ppb-row\" id=\"pg-5873-3\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0;\" ><div class=\"ppb-row panel-row-style panel-row-style- \" style=\"\" ><style>#pg-5873-3 .panel-grid-cell { padding: 0 0.5% 0; }<\/style><div class='panel-grid-cell-container'><div class=\"ppb-col panel-grid-cell \" id=\"pgc-5873-3-0\" ><div id=\"panel-5873-3-0-0\" class=\"ppb-block ppb-no-mobile-spacing\" style=\"\" ><p>\nDue to Covid-19, installation of the solution at Vital Farm\u2019s processing plant was the biggest challenge.
